Our clinic is dedicated to male health and, in particular, to the treatment of conditions affecting men’s urologic, sexual and reproductive health (like Peyronie’s disease, ED, and hormonal imbalances).

With years of clinical experience in male reproductive medicine and surgery, our team has treated a wide variety of conditions and performed thousands of surgeries, providing patients with the highest level of quality, leading-edge care. Our providers understand the intimate nature of male fertility and sexual difficulties and treat all men with discretion, dignity, and respect.

It turns out, men and women view healthcare very differently. Men don’t get an annual exam until they turn 50 because that’s when most health organizations recommend they get screened for colon and prostate cancer. So much can go wrong with a man before he turns 50. Diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and low testosterone to name a few. All of these should be diagnosed in time to avoid complications, and we can help!

If a man doesn’t see a doctor before he hits 50, there may be irreversible damage that can shorten his life. The things that kill men like diabetes and high blood pressure, don’t always have early symptoms that would prompt a man to go to the doctor. Further, we are brought up in a culture that encourages men to “walk it off” and play through the pain. What’s a little chest pain going to do to me anyway?

Our Focus

Men often don’t know where to go for a specific problem.

Mostly, we turn to general physicians to fix problems ranging from respiratory infections to orthopedic issues to sexual dysfunction. While that’s usually a good idea and a good starting point, men may not have time to first see a general physician just to wait for a referral to a specialist and then have to come back for another visit. Imagine calling a center and talking with a skilled health care provider who can tell you which physician you would see for your given problem.

That’s the beauty of a men’s health center. You know that you will be seen by a physician who specializes in whatever ailment you have. Or maybe you want to make sure you’re doing everything right. You can come in and get a check-up that follows national guidelines for men’s health so that you’re up to date on all of your health screening checkpoints. When something comes up, you can return to the center and see the specialist you need.

Diagnosis of Peyronie’s Disease

A physical exam is often sufficient to identify the presence of scar tissue in the penis and diagnose Peyronie’s disease. Rarely, do other conditions cause similar symptoms and need to be ruled out.

Tests to diagnose Peyronie’s disease and understand exactly what’s causing your symptoms might include the following:

Physical exam. A doctor will feel (palpate) your penis when it’s not erect, to identify the location and amount of scar tissue. He or she might also measure the length of your penis. If the condition continues to worsen, this initial measurement helps determine whether the penis has shortened.

A doctor might also ask you to bring in photos of your erect penis taken at home. This can determine the degree of curvature, location of scar tissue, or other details that might help identify the best treatment approach.

Other tests. A doctor might order an ultrasound or other tests to examine your penis when it’s erect. Before testing, you’ll likely receive an injection directly into the penis that causes it to become erect.

Ultrasound is the most commonly used test for penis abnormalities. Ultrasound tests use sound waves to produce images of soft tissues. These tests can show the presence of scar tissue, blood flow to the penis, and any other abnormalities. Start a treatment, read more here!

Our clinic is proud to be a part of that tradition and actively change the way men interact with the healthcare system and their doctors.  One thing you’ll notice at our PD treatment center that might be different is how much your physicians will ask of you.  Good medicine and healthcare happen more out of the office than in the office.  Doctors will often say what they do in that office visit is only a fraction of what needs to be done.  It is essential for men to be invested in their care, not just expect the doctor to provide a pill or a surgery to make them better.
